Looking to encounter the divine through meditation and silence? Curious about the connection between spirituality and social justice? Join Father Chris on Wednesday nights in Lent for an exploration of the Christian contemplative tradition, through practice and reflection. Come as you are--beginners are especially welcome.

Speaker Series
Many of these courses or lectures have been taught by knowledgeable and talented members of St. Mary’s who generously shared their areas of expertise for an enriching experience.
Past speakers have included discussions on Dante and the responsibility of the intellectual in society by Mary Refling, professor of Italian at Fordham University; topics on Islam by Fr. Masud Syedullah of the Episcopal-Muslim Committee of the Diocese of NY; a talk on the past and future of New York City by Ken Jackson, Jacques Barzun Professor of History and Social Sciences at Columbia University and author of The Encyclopedia of New York City; and a presentation on ethical issues related to gene and stem cell research by Fred Maxfield, Vladimir and Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Professor and Chairman of Biochemistry at Weill Cornell Medical College.
